Joomla! Community Meeting Slovakia 2007 – a great success!

The first ever community meeting of Joomla! fans from all over Slovakia took place in Ruzomberok (northern Slovakia, close to the beautiful High Tatra Mountains) on Saturday, June 16th, 2007.

The organizers from two Joomla! portals www.joomla.sk and www.joomlaportal.sk were extremely pleased with the interest: 36 participants met at the great venue – the Catholic University in Ruzomberok, which offered fantastic conference and IT facilities.

The program included lectures on the Basics of Joomla!, most favourite extensions, practical lesson on how to create a Template or a presentation about the use of Joomla! CMS on a new weekly magazine website.

Those, who could not be there personally, were able to follow the meeting via live video-stream and even ask questions during the final discussion.

In the end, we were pleased to present Joomla! International Edition – Slovak version, which is a full localization of the Backend for Joomla! 1.0.12. It is currently under the very final revision and it should be available for download in the end of this month.

It is very difficult to describe the atmosphere: it was great to meet everyone in person, we enjoyed the lively discussions during the official part of the meeting as well as the successful conclusion of the day at the after-party (see the picture gallery).

We are already looking forward to the next one in the long string of meetings, which we hope to organize more frequently from now on.
